It does not get more classic than Spey Casting for Atlantic
Salmon. It does not get more exciting than flyfishing for
fressh run fish of up to 40 pounds. At the Osen River Lodge
you will do both, and in prime season, June. Norway has always
been known for its mountainous landscape and deep blue fjords,
as well as mighty rivers and the prized Atlantic Salmon. More
seasons than not, the largest Atlantic Salmon in the world
is landed on one of Norways scenic rivers, and that fish is
almost always over 50lbs on fly!
Mavungana have managed to secure exlcusivity to pristine
water, in prime time, at one of the west coasts most luxury
country lodges. Privately owned, it is impossible to get on
this river through regular commercial channels. 4 miles of
river is owned both banks and limited to 8 rods. You will
not see any other angler than those you are on the trip with.
June is summer, and it is light 23hrs a day! The lodge program
is designed around the will of the guests and it is the guest
and their host that decide their fishing program. At no point
on the river are you more than a 10 minute walk from the main
lodge, and you can simply fish as much as you like. Atlantic
Salmon fishing in Norway is about quality not quantity. You
are there in prime season, and fresh run Atlantic Salmon enter
the river on the property at the Fjord pool, on the tides,
and catching fresher sea run fish is hard to come by. These
fish when this fresh, are immensely powerfull, and anglers
are predominantly using two handed Spey casting rods, which
not only assist in covering water, but also give you better
control while fighting the mighty Silver Kings.

Mavungana Tip! Practice your Spey casting
with a Mavungana instructor before your trip, its simply a
must and will improve your chances of hooking that monster
