The Mavungana Flyfishing Centre in Dullstroom has a number of excellent day fishing waters under its control. We try, like different golf courses, to provide different levels of challenge for the anglers varying skill levels and their anticipated results. We have large, weeded catch and release trophy waters suitable only for skilled anglers with waders, intermediate level well maintained and stocked dams just off the main road close to town. And small crystal clear suicide ponds stocked so frequently you can walk across the backs of the fish, ideal for rank beginners and kids.

We offer a variety of fisheries, from dead-easy 'put and take' trout dams to well-stocked, crystal clear dams to a large, weeded trophy dam with technical fishing and massive trout. Like a golf course, our fisheries differ in difficulty and there are dams for every level of experience. Feel free to enquire online about availability and fees. Be sure to read the info on our three venues.	Learn the intricacies of entomology and reading the water, stepping up to advanced tactics and increasing your catch rate exponentially. Spend a weekend on a first class private fishery brimming with beautifully conditioned trophy fish. These clinic weekends will cover everything from perfecting your casting, line and fly selection, rigging leaders and teams of flies.	The Pongolapoort Dam (Lake Jozini) is fed by the Pongola River and, interestingly enough, is South Africa's southernmost extent that Tigerfish occur. The summer months see the lake colouring up with dirty run-off, however the water clears through the winter. This presents a fairly short window of time that is ideal for flyfishing, as the clear water begins to warm in August and September before the first rains.

Mavungana has exclusive access to 10 km of pristine Upper Vaal river, upstream of the Grootdraai dam, about half an hour from Ermelo. Accommodation is in a renovated farmhouse. There is abundant endemic game and bird life and the scenery is breathtaking.	A nearly 5 year project in the making, Catalina Lodge, is based in the fabulous Daghatane Beach Estate, between the resorts of Guinjata Bay and Paindane, outside of Inhambane, Mozambique.
