Mavungana has exclusive access to 10 km of pristine Upper Vaal river upstream of the Grootdraai dam, about half an hour from Ermelo. Accommodation is in a renovated farmhouse, there is abundant endemic game and bird life and the scenery is breathtaking.

You will not see another angler, fishing is upstream dry fly and nymphing, most usually sight fishing for trophy sized largemouth and smallmouth yellowfish. This is guaranteed to be your best Vaal River experience ever. Booking is essential, access is with a Mavungana guide only and the prime months are May through to September - to guarantee clear water.
