We are very proud to announce that the fly fishing on Alphonse will reopen for the 2007/2008 season. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this opportunity has been made available by the new owners of Alphonse and will be available for the next season only at market related prices. Over the past several seasons we have all enjoyed world class fishing at St. Francois and often been amazed at what the fishery can deliver. Due to the impressive conservation ethics employed by Vaughn Driessel and his team, we have been able to enjoy an abundance of flats species. This past season has been very rewarding with the best Giant Trevally season to date, the biggest of 130cm and many fish over 50 lbs. regularly taken all whilst sight fishing. Reports on late season Milkfish have been arriving on our desk, between 3 and 7 fish per week.

The Island Conservation Society (NGO) has set up its new offices on Alphonse to monitor the fish stocks and capture recovery. So far they have been overly impressed with what the guides and guests have accomplished, both in the nurturing and education of fish release and fish handling methods. ICS will continue to play a vital role in the future of Alphonse and St. Francois atolls' conservation ethic.

The existing Alphonse Island Resort will remain open in a consolidated manner catering for fly fishers only and therefore reducing the number of rooms available and amenities offered. Construction on the remainder of the island will be underway with as little interruption to the fishers as possible, besides, you'll be fishing.

Many of the core staff will remain on Alphonse offering you the same service and guiding you've come to expect in the past. All the boats and equipment are remaining and fishing will be carried out on a shared guide/boat basis. Once again you can enjoy the company of a new guide each day through the rotational guide system.

Fly Fish Seychelles is fortunate enough to have a team of experts advising and controlling much of the bookings for Alphonse. Their support team includes many individuals previously involved in the operations surrounding Alphonse and their knowledge of the area and fishing is unsurpassed. The Package

The package price is $6850.00 PP based on single occupancy and will include 6 days guided fishing, fastrack through customs, hotel accommodations, and return flights Mahe-Alphonse. It excludes overnights in Mahe, international flights and insurances.

The fishing and hotel will operate solely for fly fisherman and there will only ever be a maximum of 10 fisher clients and perhaps their non fishing spouses on the island. Non fishers are $3900.00 PP sharing with a full paying fishing partner.
