The Blacked Tipped Zonker has produced incredibly well around the Dullstroom area, but is by no means limited to Dullies. We’ve fished this pattern all over including Patagonia, and believe us when we say – it works.
This particular version includes a hot orange collar which will work well in the cooler months, however, typically a summer fly this pattern imitates a variety of food from dragonfly nymphs to tadpoles. The tungsten bead and zonker tail combination makes this fly move very well in the water and it can be fished slowly, quickly or anything in between.
Depending on what you want this pattern to imitate you can fish it on a floating or sinking line.
