Tips and tricks – Tiger season
Tiger season is around the corner and here are a few tips before the season gets underway.
Buff
I’m sure most flyfishermen have one of these, great for sun protection, windburn, warmth and keeping your cap on while travelling on the boat.
Finger minder
I love using these, as I’m not a huge fan of gloves, preferring the feel of the cork handle.
They save your finger from line burn and been cut, which is a common occurrence when fishing for tigers and a full sink and shooting-head line. The thin lines doing some damage to one’s finger when the Tigers are on the run.
Wire straightener
One of our favourite pieces of equipment for tiger fishing. It straightens the wire if it gets a kink or bend from a bite or been snagged on a reed etc in the water.
The wire straightener saves you from having to constantly change the damaged wire.
We wear it on a lanyard along with our nippers.
All products featured are available in our Illovo JHB and Dullstroom branches.
