Osen Gard, a pearl on Norway’s west coast, is a salmon fisherman’s’ dream come true. We don’t know of a better all round set up in Norway, and along with that, fishing that year on year continues to improve, has made this a real flagship destination in our portfolio.
100% private access to the lodge, river and surrounds, on one of the most prolific spate rivers that the west coast has to offer. Accommodations are authentic and the cuisine sublime, all in a 100+-year-old restored country lodge. A bronze statue of a 64lb Atlantic Salmon that welcomes you on arrival, along with Sir Isaac Waltons famous quote ‘Nay the Salmon is not lost, for pray take notice, no man can lose what he never had..’ will ensure you are tuned in for what will be a week to remember.
Mavungana Flyfishing’s certified casting instructors will be on hand to ensure your skills are honed and fine-tuned with a Spey rod before you leave our riverbank. The river is easily coverable even in higher water and means even a complete novice can within an hour, be casting a line and covering fish.
This is a part of Norway that must be experienced and fished. The river runs into the fjord at the bottom of the property, meaning bright sea-liced fish are caught throughout July, and with the magical surrounds of the Norwegian countryside as your backdrop, you won’t go home disappointed.
Mavungana Flyfishing Tip! Practice your Spey casting with a Mavungana Flyfishing instructor before your trip, it’s simply a must and will improve your chances of hooking that monster
