Trophy Trout, Remote Richtersveld, Clarens Combos - See What Our Guest Say!

Our 'Trout and About' experience is back by popular demand! These weekends offer the best of both worlds – exceptional fly fishing and the quaint charm of Dullstroom.

By joining our 13 - 16 September weekend, you'll have the opportunity to fish some of the most exclusive waters and explore our favourite local spots.

The weekend is fully guided by our highly qualified guides, both on and off the water, and focuses not only on incredible fishing but also allows you to experience the best restaurants, personalised whisky and craft beer tastings, and sunset drinks on the water's edge.

Each day is structured with morning and afternoon sessions, allowing ample time to explore the town and all it has to offer. With venue changes in each session, you'll experience the dynamics of each exclusive property and private water. BOOK HERE

"I’ve been going to Dullies for close on 20 years, and doing a few trips every year, it’s safe to say I know the place rather well. I love it, but nothing really seems to change or surprise me. Last year I did Trout & About. Why not…Wow. Same town. Completely different spin, I loved it. A weekend with great people, great food, and even better fishing. Going again this year!" - Graham Tait

We haven’t been this excited for our Orange River season in quite some time. The river, heading into winter, is looking better now than it has on the opening day of our past three seasons. Having settled and been spared another flood, the jewel of the Richtersveld is boasting in all her brilliance with stable water levels and clarity improving monthly.

As always, nothing but the best possible experience can be expected. With a staff ratio of 9 staff to 6 guests, hot showers, craft gins, sumptuous food, and expert guiding a given. JOIN US this year in the Richtersveld for a season we are eager to return to.
"An epic adventure supplied by the professional Mavungana Flyfishing guides & support team. Plenty of memorable meals, drinks shared, lots of fish caught & new personal bests! The natural scenery & the ever changing river provided the perfect backdrop for a wonderful trip. This will no longer be a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip for us, I look forward to our next drift" - Eugene du Plessis

We’ve all been guilty at one or another stage of buying a new fly rod because it was the latest or greatest at that time, and a good fly rod will serve you well, there’s no question there. However, we’ve relooked at how to buy flyfishing equipment, what questions to ask, and what to avoid. Whether you’re purchasing your very first rod, or need to expand on your range of specialised, purpose-driven rods in the quiver, take a look at our ‘How to choose a fly rod – 101’ blog HERE , the first in a series of blogs where we break down rods, lines, reels, and other equipment, helping you choose the best gear based on what you need, and your ability as an angler. Let us help remove the guesswork for you.
