Premium wild trout river fly fishing, a stone’s throw from Dullstroom

THE WATERS
There is something truly special about a wild trout. Every fish is the product of its environment, shaped by flowing water, changing seasons and the endless challenge of survival. Mavungana Flyfishing offers an exclusive river experience on a private 3km stretch of the Dorps River, just 20 minutes from Dullstroom. This carefully managed section offers anglers the opportunity to stalk wild trout in one of the rivers that helped establish Dullstroom as South Africa's fly-fishing capital. This section of the Dorps River has undergone two seasons of clearing invasive back wattle and river rehabilitation which has resulted in improved natural reproduction and the fishing will go from strength to strength as we put in the hours on improving trout habitat.

TACKLE & TACTICS FOR WILD FISH
The Dorps River is intimate and technical. Light rods from 1wt to 3wt and long fine leaders are required to fool these wild survivors. Tactics will range from presenting dry flies upstream to swinging small streamers up against undercut banks. Your guide will adjust and change your setup as conditions and beats dictate.

HOW IT WORKS
•    Fully guided by an experienced Mavungana Flyfishing guide.
•    Fishing is strictly Catch and Release with rod pressure being limited to 3 anglers daily.
•    Booking at the Mavungana Flyfishing Centre or via info@flyfishing.co.za is essential.
