The Red Setter Trout Lure is the invention of Geoff Sanderson of New Zealand in the 1950s. developed for trout running up the rivers to spawn in lakes of the South Island.
It has since become rated one of the top flies in New Zealand.
In the USA its become to known as the Fuzzy Wuzzy known to imitate freshwater crayfish and trout roe.
In SA we use it when the fish are on the spawn imitating Trout Roe, a killer pattern fished in the shallows on a floating line with a long leader. Leave it and stay in contact, the results will speak for themselves.
